Have you heard of sleep divorce?
Apparently, there are happily married couples who are experiencing sleep divorce. This is an arrangment wherein the husband and wife sleep in different rooms so they could rest well.
But how do this arrangement affect their relationship intimacy? Is it really working?
In this episode, we are joined by Dr. Wendy Troxel, a Senior Behavioral and Social Scientist at the RAND Corporation and author of Sharing the Covers: Every Couple’s Guide to Better Sleep. She is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. She is internationally recognized for her research on sleep and the consequences of sleep loss on health, our relationships, and the economy.
Arianna Huffington named her one of the 5 most influential people in sleep, saying “Wendy Troxel is on the front lines of the sleep revolution.“ Dr. Troxel has received several awards and honors from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Defense, and other professional societies. She is Associate Editor for the highly respected research journals Sleep Health and Behavioral Sleep Medicine and serves on the NIH Sleep Disorders Research Advisory Board.
