Ep092: Sleep and Children: What Is a Healthy Sleep for a Child - With Dr. Winter
OVERVIEW
For parents, one of the easiest ways to make sure that their child has a healthy lifestyle is knowing that they get the right amount of sleep they need. Studies have shown that kids who regularly get sufficient amounts of sleep have improved learning, behavior, and overall mental and physical health. But sometimes most parents get complacent on just putting their child to sleep at night believing that they won’t be at risk of experiencing sleep issues. But is there really a way to know if your child is getting a healthy sleep or not?
To guide us through this week’s topic on children's sleep issues I am so honored to have again on the show Dr. Chris Winter. He is an internationally recognized sleep medicine specialist and a board-certified neurologist. Dr. Winter is also an author and just recently released his new book entitled The Rested Child. In this interview, we talked about how sleep can greatly affect a child's mental and physical health. Dr. Winter also shared how parents can know if their child is having a sleep problem. Tune in and learn ways on how to teach your child how to be a good sleeper!
