OVERVIEW
Most people often consider snoring as a sign of good sleep. But don’t you know that snoring is also a sign that you might be suffering from sleep apnea? Most people with sleep apnea often have a hard time breathing while sleeping or make that choking sound in the middle of their sleep. Sleep apnea is a more dangerous sleep disorder than insomnia that can later lead to health problems like heart ailment or high blood pressure if not treated immediately. But how can you know that you are a victim of sleep apnea and what are the other things that you need to consider before seeking help from sleep specialists?
In this episode, I am so honored to have on the show Dr, Kannan Ramar the former President of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He is a Professor of Medicine at the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Center for Sleep Medicine, and Safety Officer for Mayo Clinic, Rochester. Dr. Ramar will give you a deeper understanding of sleep apnea and why it needs to be treated immediately.
